Summit City is coming! AGAIN!

Wow... I really have no excuse, but its been over a year since I've posted to this blog. I guess most of my random musings have been posted on twitter and/or Double Clicked Comics, so the blog goes to the wayside quite often. I hope to restart semi-regular updates to the blog soon, including a comic/game review video series I'm contemplating putting together.

That said, its yet again time for Summit City Comic Con on June 18th!! Hope to see alot of readers of the comic, and hopefully make a few new ones!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates lately.. I've been busy keeping up with Double Clicked and chasing the ever elusive freelance work! Hopefully things will pick up, but in the meantime I'm sending email after email trying to barter art for money. Did I mention I know html? :P

Just thought I'd drop a quick blog post out there to remind ya'll that I'm going to be at Summit City Comic Con with J+C, selling our Double Clicked books, cards and mousepads! SPACE is in the books and was awesome! It was great meeting other artists and readers and showing off Double Clicked Comics to the world!!!(okay okay, to Columbus, Ohio). It was super awesome getting to see tons of old friends again too! I hope we can all meet up for more comic geekery more often!

Summit City next month. I'm also thinking about creating my own larger format book. Probably autobio...Ryan Claytor will be proud.

They're Coming!

They're Coming! What's coming? No, its not the Infernal Spawn of Evil, or even the Infernal Spawn of Infernal Spawn of Evil, its Convention Season! With SPACE just over a week away, and Summit City a month after that, I figured I'd give you all a reminder (and a shameless plug) to come check out our wares! We'll have copies of Double Clicked in Space fresh off the presses, a few leftover copies of a few of my older works (including the first apperances of Cordy and Les!) and even some Limited Edition Double Clicked Comics Mousepads! You can find more information about the conventions on our webpage at DoubleClickedComics.com (click on appearances).

What!? Theres something else coming!? YES THERE IS! A Magic tournament! There are currently plans in the works for the Double Clicked Comics crew to head on over to a FLGS (thats Friendly Local Gaming Store, for those of you living in a cave) and throw down with some fellow gamers at the Rise of the Eldrazi Prerelease! But.. we live in different states? NOT NEXT WEEK! I'll be crashing in Indiana with Justin and Christina for a week, and we'll be jamming out our comics together IN PERSON!

I'll make sure to keep you guys posted on the events AS THEY HAPPEN through my twitter account! (Look over to your right.. a little more... a little more... no wait back to the left.. yeah right there!).

Stan's Back.... uh, what?

So I've been seeing this ad everywhere (heck, its even popped up on our webcomic, Double Clicked Comics a couple times) for Stansback.com. It's a black screen, with the words "Stan's back" in large white lettering, the word Stan quite obviously written as the signature of the one and only Stan Lee. A quick inspection of the source code reveals a comment left by the site creator that only says "All will be revealed soon!". Great. Another cryptic internet message ad. Next thing you know I'll be going "down the rabbit hole" in another ARG (Alternate Reality Game) like the Slusho site for Cloverfield or the I love Bees Halo thing.

The reason this whole thing bothers me so much is that well, Stan Lee never went anywhere. In fact, quite the opposite... he's EVERYWHERE! I watch a movie, oh he got a cameo. I play an xbox game, oh he's a senator. Even flipping channels yesterday he fills my screen asking someone to turn in their costume, as i run across re-runs of "Who Wants to Be A Superhero" (I still think Major Victory should've won, sorry Feedback!).

Anyways, my point is, for Stan to be "BACK" this has to be something big. He needs to be returning to "Greatness" rather than simply getting his face somewhere else. What that is, I honestly don't know.. (and I can't help but wonder if its not even related to Marvel or Disney at all) I guess I have to wait and see.. lets just say this marketing campaign did its job and got me interested.

I guess thats what happens when an ad that seems to be following me shows up on my own site. (That's DoubleClickedComics.com, for those wondering! (shameless plug #2).

PS. Yeah, about that "every friday thing". It went out the window... this blog is now officially "updated whenever Ryan wants to talk about something". Seems to work well for other people.
